Teamwork is a must in an escape room. The whole team has to participate, because no one solves the puzzles alone. It’s vital for the players to communicate with their team members to find the solutions to the tasks together. The players do not compete against each other, but rather, use their individual strengths as a team to overcome obstacles and achieve a common goal. Escape rooms are also a great way to break the ice when people don’t know each other very well, thus an ideal team-building activity even for the new recruits in the company.
Getting those great a-ha! moments and moving forward with the story in the game creates feelings of success, which motivates the players to keep going. The stories in the room unfold as the puzzles get solved.
